Hi Good People,

Edward and I had a little digression today - Edward came across a great looking theme which we both thought would be something interesting to do and share with the simming community.

The U.S. Navy Douglas R4DS - Ready 4 Duty - with a bit of nose art for this girl..... - yep another one outside the Ford Project Era range - but an interesting one to do and share

The livery is now available on at http://www.ford-tri-motor.net - click on the Other Aircraft button and navigate to the DC3 Stuff.

Enjoy

Careful now ...... that's someone's daughter, and possibly sister and wife (not necessarily the same person). Now that you mention it, though ......... you don't think Gary ............?

I don't think hinting someone is married to his sister is the nicest thing to do? Even if they were... who cares!

Hi Tushka,

Thanks for the attempt at decorum in this thread in taking poor gwillmot to task about his crass comments. He is a little bit tender at the moment because he feels agrieved.

Therefore, I recommend that while he hides behind an alias and throws out flippant and/or crass comments in an attempt to debase or slander others that you simply ignore him.

Responding to him simply gives him the opportunity to rant a little bit more and that just allows him to climb up on his little soap box and add more garbage to the treads of others.

Have fun, enjoy the hobby and wherever possible ignore the juvenile input of those that lack the skills and maturity to contribute positively within the hobby that we enjoy.

Regards

In the words of Dickie Hutchins of the Little Rascals: REMARRRRKABLE!

I do no have an "alias". g is the initial of my first name, willmot is my last name.

Fact of the matter is; this nose art is mild compared to many of the WWII nose paintings...It's part of history...Just as I disagree with repainters who refuse to put swastikas on WWII German planes, (yes, I know that in some places this is frowned upon if not illegal; so don't download them),I think we all have a responsibility to portray history in our hobby as it happened...Would my wife want to see herself on the nose of my bomber? I asked her and she gave me "the look"...

My pleasure, I knew there would be a way to make him quiet at least temporarily while his bulbs ran out of battery.

I can see that he does post a lot of insignificant arguments or unnecessary trivia into your topics and I will never understand why as all you're doing is a free service to the community. The shoutbox abuse is not very different.

In any case I wish you luck, and success on your work for flight simulator.

You know I can still hear you .........

Batteries fully charged as always ........

All was "quiet" till you showed up again ......

So, to show those out there (especially TUSHY) my "interest" in the Ford Tri-Motor .... here's the rest of the story.

I'm from N.E. Ohio, and our family commonly went on vacation by camping at East Harbor State Park in Sandusky, Ohio. Since I had an early interest in aviation, my Dad would drive us to Port Clinton, where Island Airlines operated a Ford Tri-Motor between Port Clinton and Put-In-Bay on Big Bass Island in Lake Erie.

There was many a day I watched that Ford fly between Port Clinton and Put-In-Bay on it's regular runs. One of the treats was to take our family over to Put-In-Bay ..... BUT my Father always chose to use the ferry boat to/from the island. Alas, I never was able to get on that cool bird, although I can say I was able to touch it once.

It was a few years later that I took my first flight on a Lockheed Super Constellation from Cleveland to Miami (Grandfather had died in Florida and family went to pick up and drive my Grandmother home).
