yensid
Hi everyone, Just a quick question - how do I start a flight in FSX with the plane powered off? I've wanted to move away from starting on the runway with the engine on and just immediately taking off. I wanted to move into more realism where I start in a parking area and go through the checklist to power on the plane. I was able to quickly find how to start in the parking area in the FSX settings, but haven't seen an option to start with the plane powered off. I was hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction. As always, I appreciate the help and feedback! :pilot: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz / Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler / G.Skill Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory / EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card / Corsair Professional 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply / Azza Hurrican 2000R ATX Full Tower Case
mrzippy
OK, here goes! 1. Choose a simple aircraft like the default 172 or Baron58. 2. Choose a starting location, airfield, airport, Gate, Ramp, GA parking space. 3. Hit "Fly Now". With your aircraft running, start by turning off the engine ignition key, turn off the battery, lights, etc. LEAVE the AVIONICS SWITCH ON. Some aircraft, like the 737, does not have that switch in the cockpit. Make sure to leave the mixture levers at full rich and prop levers (if they are there) to full position (not feathered). If you want to move or resize the ATC box, now is the time to do that. 3. With everything shut down (Cold & Dark) hit ; (semicolon) label this as "Default Cold and Dark" and check the little box that says "Save as Default Flight". 4. Every new flight that you start with any aircraft will start off in this condition no matter what airport you choose to start from. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! jandjfrench
Hi yensid, Park the plane, shut everything down, Save the flight (semicolon is the default key to save), and after you give it a name check the box that says save as default flight or words to that effect. pvarn
The flight you create doesn't have to be saved as default to make use of it. Sometimes, this can cause FS to crash. If that happens to you, you'll understand you may need to restore the original ultralite default flight and load your cold and dark saved flight manually. -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm
