Cavulife
The twist rudder on my Thrustmaster T16000 seems to be going out. Over the last few days it’s gotten progressively worse and today I ended up in the weeds on takeoff. In the sim and in Windows settings I see that it’s vibrating around and not going evenly to the extents. Strangely, in the Windows settings I can’t actually calibrate the stick because I don’t get that option (though I don’t think that would help anyway). All other axes work fine. The fact that I can see the strange movements in the Settings window indicates to me that it’s a physical problem with the rudder in the stick. Since I like the stick, anybody have preferences for rudder pedals?
chicagorandy
I have and use both type systems (have an Extreme Pro joystick of late). I use the joystick to make a quick & dirty flight in the sim when I don't feel like (too lazy - lol) attaching my yoke and throttle quadrant to my PC desk and getting the pedals into position under my feet. No contest that using the yoke, quadrant and rudder pedals makes for a MUCH more 'realistic' sim experience for ME. Real planes mostly use pedals. rjdahlen
I started out with the very first sim MS offered and just a joystick. Of course sims have changed drastically since the original stick drawings of instruments and so has the realism of the experience overall. But when I changed to of yoke and pedals, it was a huge change in the experience. As a private pilot IRL that's how I fly so why would I not do that in the sim? I just makes sense if you want the true experience!
