sonnymayer
Everything has been running fine from the beginning but all of a sudden my desktop shortcut stopped launching the game. I then accidentally uninstalled the game from the icon in the start menu and then when I attempted to reinstall it in the Microsoft Store it downloaded the initial 1.32 gb and then I get an error message just saying something went wrong and that's where I'm stuck at now. I'm very frustrated and annoyed. Firewall is off. I rebooted. Don't know what else to do or why the error message. Any thoughts please? Thanks. Any possible program open when trying to install? Fine on all 3. All of a sudden the desktop shortcut just stopped working for no reason and now I can't even d/l the game from scratch. All had been working fine since the beginning. I don't understand it.
piet06273
Make a difference between: 'downloading' , 'installing' and 'launching'... How did you 'uninstall' the game from the 'Icon'? Is the game still visible under 'Windows Startmenu' as 'Microsoft Flight Simulator' https://www.oreilly.com/library/view/windows-10-the/9781491948286/ch01.html ? Are the 110+ 'Asobo, FS base , etc folders still present in your Installation folder? Is the program still present under: [Name\AppData\Local\Packages\ MicrosoftFlightSimulator8WKY....etc.? Maybe you can try to go back to an earlier 'Windows restore point' Now I have a XBOX Gamepass version, but I know from my FSX Steam that Steam has a FSX Program Integrity Check option for FSX. Don't know if Steam or Microsoft) have that for MSFS also. regards Peter Edited November 16, 2020 by piet06273 I5 12600K - RTX3060TI - 32GB 3600 - M2 - WIN11 - FS8/9/X - MSFS - full ORBX UTX etc.

Right now I have no MSFS folders on my HD anywhere as the app is uninstalled. I tried restoring to an earlier point and that didn't work. So I tried starting from scratch and installing the sim from the beginning. When I do that the initial installer for the game (1.32 gb) tries to install (which would install the game and then take me into the game to install all of the updates, etc.) but when it gets to the end of the 1.32 gb I get an error message with code 0x80073D05 which upon Googling it has to do with issues downloading games from the MS Store and I can't seem to find a workable fix. I can download other games from the Store but just not this flight sim. All was working just fine until yesterday when all of a sudden my desktop icon for MSFS stopped launching the game. As an experiment I tried installing the game app on my laptop and it installed no problem so then I uninstalled it. Apparently it has something to do with my gaming desktop but I don't know what. As I said before I can install other apps from the Store but just not the MSFS game app. I'm very frustrated and don't know what to try next. sonnymayer
Update - Fixed. After all else failed I ended up reinstalling Windows which gave me a fresh set of everything. Sim app is reinstalling now and will just take a little time. I'll also need to reinstall FSX and configure my computer but no biggie other than being a minor annoyance. Thanks for all your suggestions.
