azzaro
Punny title for a pretty cool flight. Today I took a Daimond Star DA40 (borrowed) from Owen Sound Billy Bishop Regional Airport (mouthful) up the Bruce Peninsula to Tobermory Airport. The Bruce Peninsula is part of the Niagara Escarpment, a sort of step that runs from Niagara Falls (duh) up Southern Ontario and across lake Huron into Manitoulin Island. An extraordinary piece of real estate with many intersting features I'm not going to try to cover here. I urge anyone at all interested in geology, hiking, history, nature, nuclear power or wreck diving to look into the Bruce online. Anyhow this flight was just a sort of survey of the area and I think FS2020 does it reasonable justice. 24 pics in all so grab a coffee and hold off on comments until I get them all uploaded. Thanks -- Bob Oh, and Andy. This one's for you. You've has a rough day. more in reply... Rupert
Beautiful shots Bob!! Well done!! As a non "Firster" I have a couple of questions. 1. On the first and last shot there is a symbol at the top which reminds me of a stylized depiction of a long horn steer. I've seen that symbol in many shots by others as well. So, what is it and what is it supposed to represent? 2. And most importantly is it possible to disable it so it never pops up?? Michael Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. azzaro
Thanks for the kind words. I haven't even bothered to crop these shots as I used to. They're great right out of the can. The longhorn looking icon is a drop down menu for various functions. Similar to the FSX menu but it only comes up when the mouse cursor is in that area. The bar is customizable but I don't know offhand if it can be got rid of entirely. It's so subtle it rarely registers consciously. I haven't used it much myself but it's nice to have. For example you can easily assign control of radios to your co-pilot. That's handy in real life too. :) -- Bob [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7-7700 3.6GHz / GTX1660 6GB / 32GB RAM / 49" Samsung CHG90 / WIN10

azzaro
that aircraft is bult in london ontario only a few hours from there I know. Been there a few times. Are you going to the drive-in airshow this year? I was considering it but an airshow without static planes is just not as much fun. -- Bob [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7-7700 3.6GHz / GTX1660 6GB / 32GB RAM / 49" Samsung CHG90 / WIN10
