Nottobe Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 2 questions about Eaglesoft Citation X v2: (1)after I start the engines the aircraft keeps rolling forward even the parking brakes are engaged. (2)after I start the engines and electronics the directional gauges show fail, then I follow the directions to clear and load the gps and align then tst to skip the alignment, it still take around 10 minutes for the gauges to come online. Any idea? One more question: how to move around inside the aircraft? When I simmed fs9 I had a utility to do this, but it's not good for FSX.
kingnorris Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Camera views in FSX are there. Press and hold control+shift+ enter, or control+shift+backspace. (Make sure you're in VC view mode) Control+enter, control + backspace also. Experiment with those. They move forward, backward, up and down; I just don't remember which is which at the moment.. Can't help with the other issues as I don't own this bird.. CLX - SET Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i9 10850K - 32GB DDR4 3000GHz Memory - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 960GB SSD + 4TB HDD - Windows 11 Home
abrussell Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 You can improve the parking brake effects by making a change in the aircraft.cfg file for any particular aircraft..This is my Quest Kodiak setting: [brakes] toe_brakes_scale =1.5 // 1.25 parking_brake =2 // 1 toe brakes from 1.25 to 1.5 parking brake changed from 1 to 2 The original settings are saved behind the // if you want to change them back. StringBean Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 [brakes] ... parking_brake =2 // 1 ... parking brake changed from 1 to 2 Bruce, what is that you think you gain by setting that to "2"? peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? As for the Citation, I think you got this backwards. You don't preflight the aircraft with engines running. First you establish electricity, then you init IRS, set up FMS, pressurisation etc, then you double check everything, then you ask for clearance, and then, when everything else is ready, you start the engines, preferably during the pushback. Are you sure the parking brake is even on? Check the left tilt panel. Make sure your throttles are set up correctly and really show idle power. BTW, it may be that the test-button-speed-up-alignment thing only works on the 2D panel.
f16jockey_2 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Bruce, what is that you think you gain by setting that to "2"? No idea either. From the SDK Help File:

"parking_brake""Boolean setting if a parking brake is available on the aircraft."

Wim
Nottobe Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 Yes it's just seat adjustment, what I really want is to walk in the passenger cabin.
kingnorris Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 If you press and hold all three buttons I described above, you can "walk" into the cabin.. CLX - SET Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i9 10850K - 32GB DDR4 3000GHz Memory - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 960GB SSD + 4TB HDD - Windows 11 Home
ScatterbrainKid Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 A couple of things- 1- Even at zero throttle some FSX aircraft still have enough trickle of power to move the plane forwards against the brakes, it's been mentioned somewhere in the forum before and I seem to remember it was suggested that the stick/yoke calibration might need checking, or a config file might need tweaking. 2- Like Kingnorris said, you can slide your eyeballs around in the VC cabin with these keys- VIRTUAL COCKPIT EYEPOINT MOVEMENT (Hold keys down to slide your eyeballs) SHIFT Enter= Up SHIFT Backspace=Down SHIFT CTRL Enter= RIGHT SHIFT CTRL Backspace= LEFT CTRL Backspace= Forward CTRL Enter= Back Hold CTRL and hit SPACE= Reset (PS- also use the zoom keys (-/=) to fine tune the cabin pic to look good) You can also slide your eyeballs left or right OUTSIDE the plane to simulate an old biplane pilot cranking his head out the side of the cockpit for a better view. PS- if you slide back into passenger cabins, just make sure the plane is modelled with a cabin, like this freeware FS9/X AVIA 156 by Milton Shupe http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/CMSF/avia156e.gif http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/CMSF/avia156h.gif http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/CMSF/avia156g.gif
Nottobe Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 I changed to 2 but it really turns the parking brake into "ground restraint"' I suppose it's kinda like chock blocked. But the Citation X is still moving, it could be some bug. I can't find any tech support from Eaglesoft, they pretty much sell and forget, nice software but lousy after sale service...
kingnorris Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Ragtopjohnny, a member here, is part of Eaglesoft's crew, and knows the Citation well. Maybe send him a PM. StringBean Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I can't find any tech support from Eaglesoft, they pretty much sell and forget, nice software but lousy after sale service... They have a support forum on their website where they provide fast, free support to verified paying customers. You have to register first, which sometimes involves a follow up e-mail. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. PhantomTweak Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 The "Parking_Brake=1" thing just says whether there is a parking brake available or not. 1=available, 0= not available. The is another line available in the [brakes] section, called "hydraulic_system_scalar=1" or whatever the number may be. It tells the sim how much of the hyd system pressure is available to the brakes. 1=100%, 0=0% and anything in between. perhaps you need to make it something a hair higher, like 1.1, for example. That means that 110% of the hyd pressure of the aircraft is available for the brakes. I don't know that this will help, but it may be a small assistance to you... Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! abrussell Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Bruce, what is that you think you gain by setting that to "2"? On the Quest Kodiak it changes the park brake to ground restraint and the aircraft no longer moves at startup.
