Path to Scenery\World\Scenery etc etc missing

Recommended Posts

I have something odd going on. Yesterday I installed some Chilean scenery, and when I now run Jon Masterton's Simple Airport Scanner to check for duplicate airports, I get a warning message:

"Warn: C:\Dnload\FSX\Work1\Scenery\World\Scenery cannot be found"

and then repeat messages about Scenery\BASE\Scenery, Scenery\001\Scenery etc etc.

The folder C:\Dnload\FSX\Work1 is the one I use for installing scenery with auto-installers into, then I move the scenery in place manually from there. One of the sceneries used an auto-installer. My main FSX directory is F:\1FSX\....

All the Scenery\World\Scenery etc. folders are in their proper place under the main FSX folder, and FSX appears to be running normally.

So what might be causing this issue? Could it be a corrupted registry key?

I posted this on the FSDeveloper forum about 24 hours ago, but haven't had any response there yet.

Thanks in advance for any help -

Jorgen

maybe the installer (it told you to point it to the fsx folder) could not find the scenery\world\scenery folder it was looking for.

Maybe therefore it created a folder scenery\world\scenery in your dnload folder. (with not very much in it)

just thinking out loud..

I would suspect (Jon would verify) that the airport scanner reads the registry for the FSX install location.

I would also suspect that for some reason the addon installer modified the FSX registry entry by changing it to your temporary install folder.

What addon are we talking about???????

Get the Flight1 registry tool and reset your FSX registry entry- http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library

The fsx sdk wiki, troubleshooting page, offers a download for a utility that scans the registry paths for fsx and the sdk. It is John Masterson's scanner to test if the system is ok to install ade (, if memory serves)

It reports both paths.

Edit: Memory did serve, it is called: ADE 9X Environment Checker Setup.

In the mean time, I ran the registry tool, and all is well now.

Thanks to both of you guys - and need I say that I don't like auto-installers -

Jorgen

Glad you got it fixed.

Do you know which addon did this?
