some aircraft Landing lights' don't illuminate ground.

Yes my landing lights option checked in the FSX.

It works with most aircraft but few: PMDG 777 & Airbus-X.

Since this problem is not restricted to one aircraft only, I believe the problem is in FSX and not the aircraft (it may be partially).

The support has no way of having this fixed, it was advised the landing lights .bmp files have been overwritten by REX. I restored the original "halo" and one other .bmp file but it didn't help.

The light splash on the ground is part of the model.

Either it is there or it is not.

Nothing can be done to fix it except by the original developer.

Bear iin mind, that on top of what everyone else has mentioned

1) Landing lights are for just that; landing. They are designed (if made and aligned properly) to illuminate the runway during your final descent to touchdown. There are taxi lights for taxiing once down and turning off the runway. They work good for LSO's too, btw, helping line up planes on final in bad weather, ensuring the nosegear is fully down and locked, etc. Most planes, and i know for a fact the military, are not supposed to have landing lights on if not on the runway, as they can momentarily blind other pilots trying to taxi. I know, this is a sim, and if we blind the AI traffic, who cares, but...

2) FS9 and I am pretty sure FSX the landing lights may be tilted to different vertical positions as well as left and right. Hit F10 (in FS9) and SHFT+F10 (in FSX) and scan down the list of Key Assignments to the Lights section. The lighting controls are listed there. Pretty much CTRL+SHFT+numpad 1-9 (NumLock OFF), each having it's own direction it moves the light. Biggest problem I have with it is that you reload the plane, or the sim, it's reset to default. I'll live with it.

Just a thought. I wanted to get it down before it died of loneliness in my skull...

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Do you have advanced animations turned on in your settings?

Bingo!

This wasn't REX because I fly with addon sceneries that use their own runway textures (didn't realize that at the start).

@PhantomTweak

Yes, I use landing lights on the runway only, otherwise taxi lights. But the problem was common to both.

Confucius say: if most aircraft work, but some addons don't, addon is wrong, fsx is fine.

I think that means, re-install the addon aircraft, and or contact the developer and ask. "

Agree 100%.

Not all aircraft models are created equal, especially those created for FS9 and before and "ported/converted" over to FSX. Since the 3D model remains the same, any defects, inadequacies, lack of attention to detail or testing, excessive resource loading due to hidden defects in the wire frame, uselessly high poly count, joining errors, uncompressed textures, failure or inability to properly set certain effects and lighting to all the views, etc. will follow the 3D model forever until rebuilt by the original developer which almost none of them do. 99.99% of all model developers for FS abandon their work upon initial release. If you plant your tree in cement, you have to accept a certain lack of growth.
