perhaps not understanding the installation procedure. Different developers explain it differently or intend differing procedures. Some want you to unzip into a new folder away from FSX and then manually put the files/folders in place. Others expect you to unzip directly into the FSX folder. Still others provide an installer that may not be suitable for your specific FSX installation. The best suggestion is to search the topic in this forum and read multiple descriptions until you get a handle on the logic of the process. There's also a How-to section in this website with coverage of the topic and you can also just google the subject; you'll get numerous responses.

Personally, I always unzip/install to a folder of MY choosing so I can make the final decision about what is dumped into MY fsx installation. This includes installers that MUST install to the folders directly; I just provide an empty folder of the same name for them to install in, then I decide what I'll keep.

Do some 'homework'. Understand the basics and you'll be good to go for any type of add-on.

Hows about an example of an aircraft that you can't install into FSX. Maybe a quick pictorial step by step to help you out! Give the filename (xxyyzz.zip) if it's here in the Library, or a link if it's offsite.

Also let us know if you have FSX on Disc or FSX-SE.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Yes Fsx on disc or FSX-SE require different steps. The path for installing things on FSX-SE is is a little lengthier than FSX -disc, but once you do it a couple of times it is quite simple. Hey. If I can do it anyone can.
