Relaxed ATC Question

I just downloaded the 'Relaxed ATC' for FS9 it says in the readme you must the 9.1 upgrade installed for it to work, well I hadn't got it installed so I installed that first then the relaxed ATC.

When I came to start FS it crashed, I uninstalled the 9.1 update and it still crashed, I then uninstalled the relaxed ATC and the sim started as normal.

I have read on threads where some have installed the relaxed ATC and said it was great so that was what prompted me to try, all it is is a replacement DLL for the ATC.DLL, you can rename your original of course as a back up which I did thankfully.

Here is the link for the Replacement ATC, scroll down to the bottom.

Looks like you got what you paid for from a questionable site. You better hope nothing else got loaded onto your system from there.

It's NOT a questionable site. Just a flight sim enthusiast who saved/stored many important programs for others.

I have downloaded a few of what is available with NO problems whatsoever .... and I virus/malware/exploit check everything these days.

Zippy the Clown is off on this one.

As to your problem using Relaxed ATC ..... I can't comment, since I'm married and never noticed the nagging of the stock ATC ...... learned to tune that sort of thing out after 40 years ......

And I suppose you downloaded and use the "Crack Codes" also.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

There are some "no-nags" ATC files linked from here which certainly work fine with me:

For those that do choose to use the default ATC (we all have a choice and should not be dictated to by others) it is certainly a benefit.

When you tried the new ATC.dll did you have the original file in the ...\FS9\Modules folder at the same time?

If so, try the new .dll after moving the original to another location.

Make a new folder ...\FS9\Modules\OR_ATC.DLL and put the original there.

Renaming .dll files will not necessarily deactivate them and having both .dll files in the Modules folder may have caused the crash.

The important thing is to rename the EXTENSION of the DLL file, not the main file name. I change .DLL to .DLL.ORIG. Then you can leave it in.

Per the text file, some versions of the relaxed ATC are more likely to cause problems than others. Try some other versions to see if they behave better on your machine.
