Prostock
Looking through my FSX Folder & I saw these FSX files in between the FSX.EXE's. I'm assuming they are "Crash" files, but don't remember FSX crashing. Any idea what they are & how to read them so I know what they are? Do I leave them or can they be deleted? jethrom
Hi Prostock, You are correct, they are Minidump files generated after a CTD (.mdmp or .dmp file extensions), possibly unnoticed as it occurred when exiting the sim. Why they are in your FSX root folder I have no idea, usually Dump files are sent to the AppData\local\CrashDumps or C:Windows\minidump folder. Personally I've never generated a minidump file within my FSX sim folders, but there again I use the DVD version of FSX. These dump files can be read by using a program called "NirSoft - BlueScreenView", If you don't need them it is safe to delete, often they don't reveal anything more significant than an OOM error, but can sometimes be useful to find .dll module errors that may be causing your sim to crash occasionally.
