A few shots cruising around at low altitude to see what is included in the Bar Harbor software.

I expect to swing over to see the nearby National Park very soon.

Well they didn't skimp on trees and water. Not a Blue Ox in sight though. :p

I'm pretty sure I bought that scenery during a recent sale. I must have a look for myself. :pilot: -- Bob

Well Said!

Actually a few years ago when we were at Bar Harbor we were shocked at the crowds everywhere! It seemed we happened to be there on a Canada Day weekend and the US citizens were hugely outnumbered by Canadians on holiday!

I remember the first time I went downhill skiing at Jay Peak Vermont. I was among the few English speakers on the slope. Almost everyone else was French Canadian, spoke French, and were adamant their change returned was in Dollars rather than Loonies!

Hey Bob!

I agree, I almost never buy any scenery unless it is on sale. And this was when I bought it.;)

However I wouldn't expect to see a Blue Ox this far east. As I recall, Babe was a creature of the Yukon. And she almost certainly didn't respond to entreaties in French!!

Oh! Wonder if anyone told Bangor Maine? Now they'll have to take their Paul Bunyan statue down. :(

OK Bob! I've been to Bangor, but not seen that statue. I was truly under the impression Ole Paul was from the Midwest.:o:o

No fear then either. In fact I have a good friend here in Kentucky who grew up in Quebec and English is his 2nd language. His last name is Bessette. And he's a hugely successful research MD, but mainly a very fun and interesting man!

He even helps his English wife and others like me to speak a little French as spoken in Quebec, which he assures us is only slightly related to French spoken in France. His wife replies English in Kentucky is only barely related to English as spoke in England.

Having spent considerable time in England I've discovered that often the English from one County have huge problems understanding and communicating with other Brits from another county. Once Molly and I spent an afternoon on a boat to and from the Greenwich Observatory on the Thames sitting at a table with a couple from York and another from London. Molly and I translated from Cockney to Yorkshire and vice-versa the whole time.

Hey Bob, apparently there's a ton of Paul Bunyan and Babe statues! The one I remember seeing is in Benidji Minnesota. And is on the National Register Of Historic Places. So I assumed that was THE ONE.

However according to Wikipedia they can also be found in Portland Oregon, Klamath California, Rumford Maine, Bangor, etc., etc. He is even a "Muffler Man" symbol/sign in some town up there. But according to Wikipedia, they had to replace his axe with a flag pole to get around the local ordinance about having statues/signs that tall. Apparently as long as you include a flag pole, you can build pretty much anything you want to build there!!??

'd never notice that. At the time I used to travel to England, the most difference was that of Scottish people, who roll-pronounced the 'r,' like some people still do here, in Burgundy ('Burrrrrgundy')! :):)
