Found FSX Embry Riddle Livery! Tail Number?

Recommended Posts

Been looking for this a long time. Found it bundled with 97 other paints in cess_97.zip, David Grindele. This was the paint scheme they used when I learned to fly there.

Only problem is, I don't know how to get the tail number on it. I changed it in the select aircraft and details screen. Also put it in the aircraft.cfg, atcid section and no luck. Guess my total lack of knowledge in aircraft painting is the culprit. :confused:;)

David, in the aircraft.cfg [General] section change Editable=0 to Editable=1 and your atc_id should appear in black on the fuselage.

On the Free Flight screen, click the Change button below the Current Aircraft panel and highlight your Embry Riddle C172, then click the Details button.

The Show tail number box should be ticked and you should be able to enter N139ER into the Tail number box.

Yep, already did that. Greatly appreciating your help. Seems like there is something missing to allow that area to be filled with the number

Hi David, a silly question but in your aircraft.cfg file, does the atc_id=N139ER entry look like this:

//atc_id=N139ER

If so, delete the // so that it looks like:

atc_id=N139ER

Hi Dave, I did the number you wanted but there is a slight problem. It shows the right way round on the port side but reverse on the starboard side.

I then looked at some of the other Cessnas and they too show the reg number right on one side and wrong on the other same as some of the text like company names.

So if you can live with it half right you are welcome, I've seen this with other aircraft, the paint kit only has one side of the aircraft and that side is the same on both sides if you get what I mean, it's just a mirror image so to speak.

Send me you email via PM and I'll send you the replacement texture.

Hi!

to increase the tail number size, just try also, with what you already installed:

atc_id_font=Arial,140,1,600,0

Tweaking 140 regulates size. Other data likely change something but I had no time to experiment further :):)

You're welcome :) I eventually found more about instructions of use:

first field specifies the font

second is the relative height of the tail number characters

third field should be 1, indicating to use your system’s default character set

fourth field represents the relative “heaviness” of the characters

final field is a flag that specifies the characters to be italicized
