REX Real Environment not working

Why can't I get my rex working well?

I fly FS9 and have REX Real Environlment system added because there is no other good weather program anymore available that still is supported for use in FS9. I have that REX program sincce teh early years of FS2004, maybe 10 years ago, and in fact I never used it before. So I'm now trying to get it working, following the very brief tutorial on how toe start the program.

Is there anybody who uses same program with good working result, and who can explain me how exactly I have to organise the startup of the program.

Regards

As far as I know it still works. I simply never used it for weather as I use Active Sky so no idea the procedures to get it going.

There are still other payware and freeware real world weather options available. FSGRW and FSrealWX. FSGRW should work for FS9 for quite a long time you would think. The software supports all flight sims except P3Dv4 and X-Plane. Until everyone switches to nothing but P3Dv4 and X-Plane there will be some sort of market for it and I can't see that happening any time soon. FSGRW has a market it no longer needs to share with anyone else regarding FS9. The developer will pick up plenty of sales once the other weather programs for FS9 die.

Hey Skywatcher12, do you really still use Active Sky for FS9 with succes?

Yes, Active Sky Evolution, still working fine for now. Active Sky 6.5 no longer works. I also purchased FSGRW when ASE was playing up a few months ago. I think literally the next day ASE worked again so I stayed with ASE. FSGRW is sitting there ready to go when required.

Although for some reason I can no longer get overcast skies. When the weather calls for snow, rain, or overcast my skies are always partly cloudy.

Appears to be no issues. I took a screenshot with snow and one with rain. If I panned around the plane, it was overcast everywhere.

It seems to be sporatic. Yesterday I did a flight from Bangor to Ottawa. Bangor was reporting 0 visability in the metar and I couldn't see an inch in front of me while taxiing. Going into Ottawa was moderate snow. FSE was perfect in this also. Some days it works and other days it doesn't.

Ok, I'll keep an eye on it but I can't recall any situations the weather wasn't working as per normal.

Still have this installed on my machine. I don't use it much anymore as I fly mostly P3D but when I do it works great. Loads fast and is always accurate. Maybe go on the REX forums for help instead of here. Always best to go the the experts instead of asking a bunch of guessers.
