Backwards compatability

Alright, last super noob question of the day! LOL

How backwards compatible is FSX to MSFS 2002/2004 aircraft files?

I used to fly the YF-23 back then. It was actually quite fun because I flew it as an R/C plane using an R/C controller.

Would love to hop in the cockpit this time though! lol

Completely dependent on the files.

WILD guess and NO ONE has done a scientific study with a 100% reliable answer, but my guess is 2000 = 10%, 2004 = 55% and planes which have been PORTED from those versions, around 80%. My opinions are my own and subject to lam bashing.

There are thousands of FSX planes available now so do some determined searches before you try the older stuff. No matter how much you might have liked the older planes, they just do not compete with new planes anymore.
