AIR File

FSX, Acceleration, SP2...Windows 10

Was doing some investigating on a problem and I noticed

I had a few OpenSky (747) acft that had more than One AIR.file.

Actually has 4, only one has a later date, but the other 3 dates are the same.

Have not flown this particular acft in over a year and at the moment

am doing another flight, so am unable to see if there are any ill affects.

My question....what is the norm for this file?

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,

Neil

LOL, I knew you'd be the first to answer...you must have the I.Q of a Vulcan :)

Actually, to keep a very boring long story short my problems started when I tried to see if a FS9

B377 would port over into FSX. My fingers got the best of me and I somehow moved (?) the Airplane

folder out of FSX....which lead to a host of other problems. Am slowly weeding my way back to

civilization.

Thanks again for the answer !

You say 'Acceleration, SP2'. If you have Acceleration (Gold Edition DVDs) then you should not have installed the SP2 (no need). Just wondering. And there can be 10 air files in folder. The one that will be used by the SIM is the one that the aircraft.cfg calls (using NAME not Date, etc) like this: 'sim=xxxx' (with 'xxxx' being the NAME of the air file like this: 'sim=Boeing747-400' (FSX Accel default 747). Cheers.

Tell us Jorgen, have you opened the Rumtopf early or have you "got lucky" this week? Well done, either way! ;)
