Downwind66
That's a BIG Boat!:cool::cool: Yeah, I guess you could call it that, if you were planning on it to take you to the fishing holes! I prefer to keep this one in the air! When I first bought FSX, I did everything I could to not be interested in the slightest of flying this aircraft. Once, I said enough, and started flying it, it's actually quite calm and docile to handle! You just got more to move around!!! Thanks Jan. Downwind66
Long time I didn't fly such a heavy! Yes, Gerard it is a "heavy" for sure, but I've come to enjoy it! Size can make it intimidating! Thanks for commenting! - Rick
darrenvox
cool pics...does united have the 747-8? Downwind66
cool pics...does united have the 747-8? Darren - I could only find info back to 2011; United had 24 - 747-400's back then. If they had any still in service, and IF they happened to have an 8i (which this download was), they have or are in the process of phasing them out. I think the only ones still wanting the keep the 747's alive and in service, are the air cargo companies, and they are scooping them up as they become available. I have 9 (7 default, 2 add-on) 747-400's, the download of the original 747-121 City of Everitt, and this one, 747-8i. They are all great fliers, the 8i being the prettiest! Thanks for replying Darren! Rick

Downwind66
Larry - Like I said above, I guess I was very intimidated by it's size and shy'd away from them! One day, I got bored with all that I had been flying and decided to learn what this big aircraft had to offer! I really do enjoy flying them now. I found this 8i and have been flying it exclusively when it comes to the 747's!. Kenny on here, got me interesting in classic jetliners and we were able to find the original 747-121, City of Everett. It was the original inaugural flight for the 747's. It was destined to be scraped and a historical group got together, and I believe they completed the restoration of this historical bird and is on the Boeing field in a section they have for restored aircraft. I still like to wake that one from my inventory and fly it around a little, but, I still go back to this one! Thanks for commenting Larry!
