OleGreyGhost
The MD 80 plane is positioned over the parking tee in what appears to be its center of gravity, just in front of the wing. The nose wheel is resting in the APU unit as shown in pic. The plane is an FS2004 MD80 base pack model by SGA. The file (SGA80.zip) was downloaded from the library here. After correcting some errors, I was able to get it to display in FSX. If one of the design gurus could explain that section of the aircraft.cfg to correct so FSX will park it properly, it would be greatly appreciated.... P.S. The parking offsets at the airport for T1 is 7.92m & T2 is 12.19m. Not sure if this info is needed....
mrzippy
I normally just use shift+P to move the aircraft back to where the nose wheel sits on the T. I don't think changing the center of gravity is a good idea. Now if you decide to mess with the aircraft.cfg, this is the section: (make a backup before you start) [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] max_gross_weight = 160000 // (pounds) empty_weight = 79686 // (pounds) reference_datum_position = 77.0, 0, 0 // (feet) distance from FlightSim Reference position: (1/4 chord, centerline, waterline) empty_weight_CG_position = -74.0, 0, 0 // (feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from specified datum max_number_of_stations = 50 Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! StringBean
The model origin point dictates where your plane (or AI) will spawn. There is nothing you can edit to change that, except the location of the parking spot. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. OleGreyGhost
I tried both mrzippy. Didn't like the results of either. That wasn't the APU unit, it was the pushback tractor. It would drive thru the plane. @ Bean, I was afraid of that. Will probably have same problem with the service vehicles. Will just have to find another A/C that fits. Thank you both for the taking the time to respond....
