Guest Sascha66
Hi all! I bought the CLS 747-200/300 directly from the CLS webshop yesterday, but it seems I'm doing something wrong because I do not have a virtual cockpit in any model, nor any livery, nor the manual. The 2D panel is fine. The website also mentions a separate cargo package which I cannot find there either. Can anybody with experience on this plane help me install it properly or direct me to the correct links? I also noticed later that CLS has in fact two versions of this plane on their website which seem identical except that one is also compatible with FSX (which I don't use): https://www.commerciallevel.com/webshop.php?actie=pshow&pid=123&groep=15 and https://www.commerciallevel.com/webshop.php?actie=pshow&pid=89 , which is also compatible with FSX At least I hope that the FS2004 version is identical and I haven't bought an outdated version... Thank you! Sascha
lmhariano
Hi Sascha, I don't have the B742, but I have all their modern Airbuses (A330/A340/A345) and the DC-10. In these birds, there is an icon in the 2D panel that says "VC". You need to press it in order to see the VC. If I remember correctly, this is something that you may need to do only once. Liveries: for the Airbuses I remember I had to use the Livery Manager, which let me select the repaints and have them downloaded from CLS' servers and installed. Hope this helps. Guest Sascha66
Hi Luis, great, I'll try as soon as I'm home. After reinstallation yesterday evening, the INS 747-200s show the VC (at least some, I haven't checked systematically) but no FMC option does, and no 747-300 at all! How are the Airbuses, by the way? I have the Wilco Airbus Vol.1, but not the long-haul jets in Vol. because the VC looks lacking. Cheers, Sascha
Guest Sascha66
You da man! Brilliant - that was the solution, one little click on that little icon and my woes went away :)))
lmhariano
You're welcome, Sascha, I'm glad it worked :) Regarding the Airbuses, I'll be honest: The A332/A333/A342/A343 are basically a Posky model + Posky FDE + Ken Mitchell panel, a detailed and fully working VC* and some eyecandy such as airstairs. However, they were able to simulate somehow the FBW characteristics for roll. Pitch and power are still very Boeing. If you're able to get FBW for pitch also (I was able to retrofit the PA A380 FBW into the CLS 'buses), it turns to be very good: - It's light on performance, so it's a very good option for flying into heavily congested, FPS-hungry airports with no issues. - Panel is not as detailed, while still looking like an Airbus. You can be taking off in less than 10 minutes from loading the flight, depending on traffic. - Since the panel is based on FS autopilot, you can easily speed up simulation rate to 16x, with no issues. Wilco tends to go nuts sometimes. The only thing I don't like is that the FSX version still uses a FS9-native model. It matters to me, because I've just moved to FSX. Since you're in FS9, you will have no problems. * In FSX, due to some strange reason, half the overhead panel is disabled in the VC Best regards, Luis Hernández
Guest Sascha66
Thanks, that clears it up for me!
lmhariano
Now I return you the question: how is the 742/743? I'm missing the RFP 742 in FSX, this could be a good replacement... Best regards, Luis Hernández
Guest Sascha66
Well, I haven't flown it yet on an extended flight with all systems, only for a spin round the block - but the feeling of immersion is very good. It's a beautiful model and flies good too. COmes with an INS and FMC option, but haven't tested either.
Dazzysti25
Hi there guys I need urgent help I just bought the cls 747 - 200/300 HD for fsx. My problems is the leading edge flaps. I have uninstalled the game and re-installed, looked on different forums to see if anyone has had the same problem and I can't find anything. Please help if you can.
