I read the info in the link provided above but that did not answer my question. Is there any way to enhance the visual experience in FSX that I can DL for FREE to make it better? Please provide link or file name if possible. Thank you
mrzippy
It's called Video Editing. I just saw a similar post at AVSIM and the guy masked the cockpit and edited the video using Google Earth flight simulator scenery. Whoopie Scooters! Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
dogdish
I wanted to more familiarize myself on the term "Whoopie Scooters", so I googled it. All that came up was Whoopie Goldberg complaining about being run over by people on scooters. Is there another definition? llivaudais
Prostock, I'm all about scenery! For my money ( free, that is) the two items that are most essential to me are FreeMeshX for the Terrain mesh and photoscenery made with FSEarthTiles or downloaded directly from BlueSkyScenery.com. But a lot will depend on your preferred type of flying. Loyd location: just north of YESP in Western Australia some videos linked below feature self-made photoscenery Hooked since FS4... now flying: self-built i7-4790 at 4 GHz; GA-Z97X mobo; GTX 970; 16GB gskill; quiet, fast and cool running. I am downloading Scenery from Blue Sky now. I went to FreemeshX for terrain mesh. The only thing I see there is Bit Torrents download. I don't know what to get & how to install it. Any help on this? llivaudais
Using a torrent downloader (uTorrent in my case) to get FreemeshX is the first time I've ever used Torrent software. It is effectively a download manager that transfers files from other people to your machine (peer to peer / P2P). The FreemeshX download is essentially a list of scenery files that you will be downloading. You download that list, Freemesh "Asia", for instance, to the location where you want the files to end up (they're ready-to-run .bgl files destined for the scenery folder of choice). the torrent software lets you select a destination where each of the file sets is to DL. Here is my mesh folders setup I don't remember if I downloaded to the "Asia" folder or to the "Asia/scenery" folder but try one or the other the first time and then you'll know. If you select the wrong one, just move the bgls to the correct folder and adjust on the subsequent downloads. There are how-to video's on YouTube to show you how to go about it. I'd make the folder tree FIRST and then point the torrent software to the appropriate one at the time you use it. Other downloaders are BitTorrent and qBittorrent The total size of all the mesh is around 40G. Good luck.
