copperpen
I watched a YouTube video on that plane a couple of days ago. Awesome performance.
lnuss
Actually, he rebuilt and heavily modified a Wilga, so much mod that it's a mostly different aircraft, but he didn't start from scratch. But thanks for the link -- fascinating what he did, and the performance he got. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science! ColR1948
@Larry, Whenever I see things like this of people rebuilding or converting an aircraft, how do they go about getting it airworthy certified? I mean imagine doing all that work and someone checking it out says it isn't airworthy and it needs a lot more work and you need to practically strip it to get the parts needed. Col. lnuss
It's a process the FAA provides for converting an aircraft to experimental. I don't know the details, though they're in the FARs, and I think the FAA may also have an Advisory Circular (AC) on it. I suspect the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) would be the place to check it out, though, since that's right up their alley. Larry N.
