phildent
Hi all, I have just reloaded FSX on a new hard drive. When I go to open FSX a box opens which tells me that I am not set to the optimum resolution and that the optimum resolution is 1920x1080 for the programme to run properly. When I check my resolution through my desktop settings, it is already set on 1920x1080..??? Has anyone else encountered this problem ? Is it a setting in flight sim that I have to change, or otherwise. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated. Thanks Phil
mrzippy
Have you gone into your FSX/Settings/Customize/Graphics and set the FSX resolution there? Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
il88pp
Reinstall your graphics card driver. (or download the latest driver for the card and install it.) also make sure your pc is not starting in safe mode every time. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Thanks Phil What operating system are you using? Win10? Can you post a picture of the dialog box that is popping up? (Prt Scr) key pasted to Paint will do. longbreak754
Hi Phil +1 on Charlie's suggestion..... By default FSX will be set to 1024x768 and not the native optimum resolution for the monitor in use. No need to re-install drivers as, based on your comments, you have only install FSX to a new, sceondary HDD...….unless of course, you have fitted a new master HDD and had to re-install the OS as well. If this is the case I think that you would have already installed any required drivers as part of that process, either manually or as part of any Win update that you may have had to do..... Mark Hurst
Good grief, before you reinstall anything just go to your fsx.cfg and delete the sections/s labelled [DISPLAY.Device...], then restart FSX. Most likely you have an unexpected Mode listed there. MarkH

jorgen.s.andersen
Phil, don't be embarassed, we have all overlooked the simple solutions from time to time - been there, done that and bought too many damn t-shirts in the wrong sizes! Jorgen
