Help with shaking CRJ 700

Recommended Posts

The title says it all. I love the crj 700. However I can't fly them because every time I take off it begins to shake and shake and shake and I can't get it to stop. I know there were other threads a while ago on this but no real answer. Does anyone else have this issue or did anyone find the solution?

Not really sure this will solve the problem, but easy to try. Increase the moments of inertia (MOI) in the weight and balance section of the aircraft.cfg. If you're sure which direction it shakes, you can try just one entry (if it shakes up-and-down revise just the pitch MOI). If not increase all three entries. Try doubling the value and see if it helps. Don't be afraid of trying really large numbers, but in general the lowest that flies nicely is right.

As always, back up the original values so you can restore if it does not work will.

Good luck!

This is what I have for the POSKY CRJ 700 .. and no problems at all .....

performance=Passengers: 70\nCrew: 4 \n\nTotal Baggage Volume: 824 sq cu\n\nDimensions:\nSpan 76 ft 3 in\nLength 106 ft 4 in\nHeight 24 ft 8 in\n\nEngines: GE CF34-8C1\nTO Thrust Rating: 12,670 lb\n\nMax Fuel Cap.: 19,450 lb\nMaxTOW: 75,000 lb\nOEW: 47,500 lb\n\nTypical Cruise Speed @ FL310: \nM.78 - Normal Cruise\nM.825 - High Speed Cruise\nRange: 1,732 nm

max_gross_weight = 75000

empty_weight = 43500

reference_datum_position = 40, 0, 0

empty_weight_CG_position = -27, 0, 0

empty_weight_pitch_MOI = 1374924

empty_weight_roll_MOI = 856479

empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 2368455

empty_weight_coupled_MOI = 0

max_number_of_stations = 6

station_load.0 = "1000.0, -25.5, 0.0, 4.0, Business"

station_load.1 = "2500.0, -30.0, 0.0, 4.0, Std Economy Fwd"

station_load.2 = "2500.0, -35.0, 0.0, 4.0, Std Economy Aft"

station_load.3 = "953.0, -21.5, 0.0, -3.0, Fwd Baggage"

station_load.4 = "953.0, -34.5, 0.0, -3.0, Fwd Baggage"

station_load.5 = "450.0, -50.5, 0.0, 3.0, Aft Baggage"

But !

There was a recommendation at the POSKY forums about changing the

empty_weight_pitch_MOI = FROM 1374924 TO 374924 in the acft config.

The 'fix' seems to help a great deal. Before the 'fix' I held the climb out speed to around 215 KIAS, and after the fix the IAS can be 250 kts

So you can try it ! (not needed for me!)

I am trying to check all these numbers to what I have. The problem I have is ensuring that when I save it that it updates in the file. I have the same issue when adding textures to planes. I can't seem to figure that out. I will try this and see if it helps. Thanks:) Were these alterations you made to make the CRJ 700 fly properly? Which texture are you using. everyone that I have tried does it.
