Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro (USB) fails to load

I recently had to reinstall Windows 10 on my computer from a repair disk. When I executed FS2004. it failed to load my Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro (USB) joystick. Tried to find a driver to no avail. I did have another copy of FS2004 on a second computer also running on 10, so I started comparing files from both computers. I found a file in the Flight Simulator 9 Program Files (x86) directories which was different. The files "devices.cfg" on both computers contained setup information for many different brands and models of various joysticks. The second computer had information on the Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro (USB) joystick while the reinstalled file while did not! So I copied the Precision Pro information and added it to the reinstalled file. When I reloaded FS2004, the joystick was working fine.

Since many others have had similar issues with these Joysticks, I have included the missing lines from the devices.cfg file, as follows:

So you come off sounding like a 'genius'? The reason you had this problem is because you PROBABLY have installed FS9 in 'C:\Program Fike (x86)\Microsoft Games\FS9'. That not 'genius'.

I have had a Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick for 10 years and 3 diff OS and never had any problems. Windows will install it's own drivers when I plug it into the USB port. No 'drivers' software required and definitely not needed.
