A few shots of the nostalgic battleship grey livery. I know many didn't care for it but it's a personal favorite of mine. Dare I say my favorite airline livery ever...?

Took a quick hop from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Grabbed a couple shots over what I believe is Mt. San Antonio.

Hope you all enjoy. :)

Thanks for all the kind comments, everyone! Have only been here a short time but I can already sense the nice atmosphere to this forum. :)

miss that livery!

When I was younger (back in the mid-to-late '90s) was when I did the majority of my flying. I normally was on a United flight which would explain my infatuation with the Battleship Grey livery. I know it was at its peak from the early-to-mid '90s through the early 2000s.

Still see a few of them on United Express propliners over here in Fresno, but they have mostly been replaced by the ugly(in my opinion) Continental/United Merger colors...

All my early memories of UAL planes, and they are numerous since dad was a pilot for them for many many years, are from the mid-late 60's, just a tad before the dull grey scheme. Back then, they were the great red-white-and-blue scheme. That to me will always be THE UAL paint scheme. I have never liked (my father either, truth be known) any of the ones after that. But hey, that's just me :)

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!
