Alpha F-4 reborn drogue chute

Recommended Posts

Just a brief question on this excellent model by Antonio Diaz, Cirrus N210MS, Tim Conrad and David Robles. I have spent many hours reliving my time with the Phantom with this superb rendition. There were some minor flap issues, but easily corrected. One question: I noticed in the Readme that the drogue (drag) chute was activated in 2004 with the c and v keys. The readme mentions using the Concorde nose cone keys. I've tried both and get nada. Did this feature get modeled or am I missing something? Thank you all for the reply. I was going to comment on this great looking beast, but seems the comment section has been removed. I've spent many hours in the F-4E simulator (maintenance tech). I enjoy this model. Good job David, Piglet, Antonio and Cirrus N210MS . Terry

I have been flying it the past week or so. i tried binding a couple of joystick keys to the Concorde visor and came up empty. I know the drogue chute handle in the cockpit is not activated.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Yes, Mr. Z, same here. I noticed the handle was "dead". I was afraid of that. I guess I have to hold the nose off a little longer and add the speed brake on rollout. Thank you for checking. Solid airplane..

IIRC the Concorde animations do not work in FSX.

The tailcone door is assigned to the thrust reverser animation in the model.

There is no actual chute in the model and thrust reversers are disabled in the aircraft.cfg.

I suppose you could change that to give the affect of the chute by enabling thrust reversers, though activating the "chute" with the throttles is not realistic. And by throttle I mean power lever, F-4s do not have carburetors, so no throttles. :)
