Affinity Masks

Over the FSX years I have religiously inserted AFINITY MASKS into the FSX cfg file. Today I changed the Affinity settings throughout the full range. After each change I ran a complex flight. There was no change in the FPS. So have I been conned all these years?

How many cores does your CPU have? Do you have hyperthreading enabled? So to advice you we need to know your Specs. How else can we advice?

The affinity mask was never a requirement for the sim to use multiple cores. What it was good for was keeping the sim and the OS or programs that may be running on different cores. For some this did help reduce shutters, but for many it didn't make a difference. Like many tweaks, it was never a magic bullet.
