More Welsh Rocks

If there was one spot in the UK I'd most recommend for a single trip, it'd probably be either Wales or Cornwall. The climate is much nicer and they're blessed with great sea views. And yes, lots and lots of rocks!

Among the piles of rocks I found most impressive in Wales are the Caernarfon and Conwy Castles. These shots are of Conwy.

Again. These shots are taken with ORBX Globabl plus ORBX for various of the British Isles.

Thanks Folks!

The thing that most impressed me when visiting there, thankfully recreated in ORBX is the government tunnel! Today there is a "swing bridge" which moves out of the way for ships to enter the area. Also there is a 19th century? suspension bridge which allowed travel across the straights.

But look again, do you think you see a tunnel coming out of the castle? Actually for centuries anyone hoping to travel from one point to another across this bay had to literally go through the castle!! Where their fare could be inspected and tariffs charged accordingly! Until the suspension bridge was built you literally had to go through the castle to travel from one area of Wales to another!!!!

And let's not forget Conway's other (and possibly most important) claim to fame:

Hi!

Wales was once home to a British TV series called the Prisoner they passed at TV in France about the mid-1980's! A thrilling one where a / or more retired spies were kept prisoners into a Welsh coastal village!

Sad to say, I've wasted time traveling to Portmeirion as well. I don't know what it looked like forever ago. But the only time I went it looked like a wasted and deserted movie set almost anywhere in the world.

As to the smallest house, I missed that. However I did hoist a pint in the "smallest pub in GB" which was in Margate and as I recall there were three seats. And Molly I took up two, the publican's dog occupied the third and I wouldn't have been brave enough to talk him out it either!!
