Rudder overly sensitive ?

Is there any way that I can reduce rudder response on a particular plane ? I recently installed an Avro Lancaster bomber, and it is far too sensitive on rudder. I don't want to go to FSX Settings just to suit one particular plane, and would just like to tune down the yaw response for this Lancaster.

Thank you - Jim

If you have the paid version of FSUIPC you can make adjustments there, or you can go into the aircraft.cfg and change the rudder effectiveness from its default value.

In the cfg's 'Flight Tuning' section he did this: ''rudder_effectiveness= 4.50''. Change it to '=1.000'. That should do it. If it's STILL too sensitive than you have to look in air file's 'Flight Dynamics' section (1101) and change the 'yaw_stability1=xxx' and 'yaw_stability2=xxx' values. Try '1=300' and '2=32536'. If I knew the zip file name I could work on it. Like you said: am not going to change FSX just for 1 airplane. Makes sense.

OK ! I got it done ! I used Notepad and got the cfg file open , reduced the rudder effectiveness values, and now she's flyin good. Thanks to you all for making me aware of what the config file does, it has opened up a whole new world for me.

Thanks guys - Jim
