bare scenery in fsx ?

It all depends on what you want. Do you fly airliners and want it to look good from high altitudes or do you fly low an slow and looking for good ground cover? Do you have deep pockets for expensive payware or are you looking to go the "cheap route" with freeware addons?

ORBX scenery for low and slow and possibly photo-real scenery for higher flying.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

newly installed: Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition.

My question: it still looks bald. (scenery etc.), (relative to X-plane 11)

Is that normal?

Do I need to add some add-ons? to improve it?

Who has experience with this?

What are your settings?

OS?

GPU?

Unless we see some details of equipment and settings as requested, I'll write this post off as brag-ware.;) And I didn't notice any comparisons of the same view with different software either.

Different strokes, etc.

Thanks for your posting il88pp!! Any excuse to see some of your screenshots again is a good thing!!

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

Yes, someone comparing a sim released in October 2006 with one released in December 2016 is either not very clever, or too clever by half...

We'll see when we have some hardware clues.
