Static Turkish aircraft

Hi all,

To be able to enhance some of my larger Turkish airports I've been searching for static Turkish Boeings, Airbusses, ATRs, etc. However, they seem to be very well hidden or maybe even non existent.

Does anyone know where I could find some of these specific statics ?

Thanks in advance.

I have only an indirect answer for you. If you obtain the free program MCX (Model Converter X), you will be able to convert a flyable aircraft of any kind and texture into a static one. So as long as you can get flyable Turkish aircraft, that then gives you a source of static ones.

There are two advantages of doing things this way. The first is that the static aircraft is the same model.mdl as your flying one, and it uses the same textures, so it looks exactly the same as the one you are flying. In contrast, if you get a static aircraft from another source, it is almsot certainly going to "look" slightly different.

The second one is that with MCX, as a part of making the static model, you can put the animated parts (flaps, landing gear, cockpit, doors, lights, etc) in whatever position you want, so within the one aircraft and paint scheme, you can have different variants.

MCX is brilliantly well supported by its author, and there is also much experience with it on this forum.

Alternatively (and I find this easier) you can create AI flightplans that only work at a time of day when you are not ever going to play the game, e.g:

AC#43447,TC-LJN,1%,WEEK,IFR,0/03:01,0/03:16,370,F,1234,LTFJ,0/03:03,0/03:18,380,F,1234,LTFJ

(It won't even fly the second leg, but you must have two legs in any plan).

JohnHinson beat me to it above, that is the way I used to do it, so it takes off in the middle of then night then returns, you never see it/them go and come so to speak.

Exactly. And if you want static A/C remaining always at the same place, you could create a separate Afcad with just parkings and a small runway of 100 ft length and 0.4 ft width (no apron path).

Thanks guys for your reactions.

I've tried John Hinson's suggestion for creating " AI static" planes via TTools and it certainly solves my initial problem on all fronts. In the meantime I've also found and downloaded MCX. I will try that soon as well. Thanks Steve.
