usb777
Anyone know of an F84 Thunderstreak Thunderbird livery? I have the Thunderjet, F5, F4 and F-16 Thunderbird just like to complete the collection. Mike G. jorgen.s.andersen
I assume you mean the F-84F, which actually was called the Thunderflash in the Royal Danish Air Force, where the RF-84F then was called the Photoflash. But I do not recall seeing it in the Thunderbird livery anywhere on the sites I go to. And, to make the collection complete, you'll also need the F-105, which the Thunderbirds flew for 6 months. jorgen.s.andersen
Age must be getting to me. The F-84F was, of course, the Thunderstreak, and the RF-84F the Thunderflash. In Denmark, we locally nicknamed the RFs - the only variant we had - the Photoflash. Jorgen
usb777
I found one at Skunk Works, thanks. Didn't know about the 105 either. Mike G. jorgen.s.andersen
Mike, My memory is not what it used to be. The F-105B was only flown by the Thunderbirds for 6 shows, not months. For a couple of years I worked in northern Colorado Springs, and if I walked about 40 feet from my desk I was at a big window overlooking the USAF Academy airfield. Guess where I and many of my co-workers were on practice days.... Jorgen
usb777
That's cool. I was a Safety Supervisor for a New Coalition building at Nellis back in 2003. Watched the F-16 Thunderbirds practice from the four story rooftop one block off the flight line, Can't remember what I had for breakfast but I will never forget that! By the way, has anyone painted an F-105 with that Thunderbird Livery? Mike G.
