Weather doesn't save with flight

I am using FSXWX for the weather in my flights. If I pause a flight that has stormy weather and save it, then at another time choose that saved flight, I get clear weather conditions. I have just gotten back into flight simming and FSX after using FS9 for many years, and I don't ever recall FS9 not saving my weather with my flight. Is there some setting I need to change in FSX for the weather to save along with my flight?

Could that weather addon be updating to the most current conditions when you start the saved flight? I think that also happens when using the weather (updated every 15 minutes)

in the Sim.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

My point is that I am sure that FS2004 saved the weather along with my flight so that I would not even need to connect to the internet to have the exact weather conditions I had when I first saved the flight. That does not happen, at least for me, in FSX.

You are correct in your assumption - when you 'save' a flight in FSX it will save details of the current 'situation' including wx conditions by creating 3 files.......

.FLT - this contains details of the current location, alt, speed etc.

.FSSAVE - this contains detailsassociated in the FSX.cfg file

.WX - the current weather settings.

I don't use FSXWX, however I had a look at it a few months ago. Based on my understating of how FSXWX works, gleaned from the product page and the some of the forum entries, I think that it is not possible to save a 'current' WX setup.

In one of the posts by the developer a statement that caught my eye stated that FSXWX uses a custom grid of weather stations. If so, I think your issue is caused by the fact that FSXWX loads this custom set of the WX stations when the app is started and these are removed when the app or FSX is exited. As FSX can't find these during the loading process it reverts back to the default WX settings. It is the same principle that happens if you were to save a specific flight and set it as the default flight (which would load at startup) and then subsequently delete the saved flight - FSX will revert back and load the default Ultralight over Friday Harbour flight
