Loaded FSX Gold and accelartion everything is operating but many docs reference the fsx.cfg file which I'm not showing in my root FSX folder. I did a search and that file does not show. Why don't I have this file?

How can my FSX system run without it?

It's in your user folder, not FSX folder.

Different operating systems have slightly different locations, but on Win7x64 it's here:

C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

You will likely need to change the File Explorer option to show hidden file extensions to be sure you are editing the correct file.

Let us know if you need more help than this.

Go to the Control Panel, then Folder Options.

On the View tab add a check to "show hidden files, folders and drives".

Remove the check from "Hide extensions for known file types".
