Hi all: I have been attempting to install:UkPilots Organisation

Courchevel Airport Scenery (LFLJ)

I have had it installed and working, by this I mean smoke coming out of the chimeneys and people walking around,It's really a well made scenery pack.I like the Eye Candy.

But I'll be...If i manage to reinstall it Again, simply to put the ones.bgl file to addon scenery\scenery folder. But it doesn't add as per instruction in a Word document accompaning the file.I've tried everything I know to add it,even downloaded several new files from different sites and NO CIGAR!???I've checked the folder is present when it adds to the scenery, ( Running the bar) As described in the document, yet the secenry doesn't install and all I have is default Courcheval scenery.

Is there anyadvice anyone can come with, much appreciated:

First question,,,,if you had it running, why did you have to reinstall it? Did you put the .bgl file into Addon Scenery/scenery folder and then start FSX and see the status bar build the new scenery? The part about going to the Library and hitting OK is nonsense. The scenery does work!

Mr Zippy, Thanks for your reply. I had to reinstall FSX, because I/It lost my scenery and I got an error message when I started, when I clicked "Ok" it gave me a error "Ding-Dong"

Yes this is the scenery that installs from the package. It has nothing to do witht he scenery depicted in the folder"Screenshots"(containing 6 j-peg images) that comes with the download showing the scenery; This in its' turn is completely different. The flying Building atop the hill ???On the Right hand side of RWY 05 there should be Building and parked cars; Check the folder and you can see what I mean.

Unfortunately for me the addresses given in the package don't work anymore.I just reinstalled and get the exactly the same you . BTW when I add the .bgl and start FSX it doesn't load anything ???The bar doesn't run...Until It starts and I go to the scenery library and click ok.Asindicated in the instructions then the bar runs and the .bgl is added. Don't know why it does this on my installation?

Thanks for your reply.

iL88pp Thanks for your reply. Installing/reinstalling doesn't seem to be the issue as the result is the same. the scenery that installs IS NOT the scenery depicted in the folder Screenshots, I have had that scenery runningh, but for some reason unknown to me I can't get it installed Again, reason why I posted this thread; Looking for suggestion?

Just the basics.

Set level of scenery detail higher. Ask zippy what file he's using. Post e.glencod on what you're using. Look in old backup of fsx for old file. Moving people?-->maybe AES?

I'm using the same download as berlopez. No cars parked and no people walking around. It's a 3.21 KB scenery .bgl. I doubt it has enough in it for all of the claims and screenshots. It was also created in 2007.

Mr. Zippy

The LFLJAirportScenery.bgl is nothing more than a placement file for the stock scenery objects. I looked at it with Whisplacer and it shows all the scenery objects.

I did not place the bgl in Addon Scenery\Scenery. I created a folder called LFLJ and placed it in Addon Scenery. I then created a subfolder called Scenery and within it placed the LFLJAirportScenery.bgl. I then activated it in the Scenery Library. The walking people and the cars all show. Bob.

Correction. The people move in place. They don't actually walk.

Okdaley: Thanks for your reply and imput. This scenery is not added through the scenery library. A single .bgl is added by copying it to Addon Scenery\Scenery folder in FSX, then it should upon starting FSX and then going to the Scenery library and then clicking "Ok" de added. In Mr. Zippy's case the adding scenery files bar runs when he starts FSX. In my case it doesn't , until I start FSX, then go to the scenery library and click "Ok" as per intructions...Then I get the same results as Mr. zippy's images. Now these images have nothing to do with the images in the Screenshots folder contained when one unzipps the downloaded file; I have even tried adding the scenery's single .bgl to the library, but to no avail because it doesn't contain the nessesary file, scenery and texture. it's a single .bgl which contains everything, as said by the creators of the scenery. After adding a .bgl you should see that screen at start. And after adding to ../addon scenery/scenery the library step is not needed.

Close fsx. Delete the file from ../scenery folder.

Reboot. Unzip. Install file. Start fsx.

You say you are all using the same file. I saw no filename anywhere. Just post it to make sure. (And to make this thread of use to others that read it in future.)

I d/l said 32kb scenery and it took a couple of times to get it to work. I have Win7 and could not use the "add scenery" in the library drop downs. I did directly install LFLJAirportScenery.bgl into addon scenery\scenery folder. Restarted FSXA. The screenshots appear to have been taken from the field North of the cabin/store with the smoke. There is smoke and three guys talking on their phone, arms animated. Didn't observe any walking though. Also, I noticed the first time I departed the airport, the vehicles were not present. They appeared after I landed. The vehicles are behind the store. (West side) The images look exactly as Familton depicts. It's not obvious at first, but it does seem to work. Good luck

This is how the scenery added to my installation, default scenery is still present, and in the image one can see a single airplane added on the tarmac,

On this next image the scenery was added in front of the default scenery,

And on the next way back next to the last Building.

I don't quite remember is this the way it is supposed to be?

You are welcome. Bob.

I have added Dietmar Loleit's animated French flag. Filename animatedflagslibrary.zip here at Flightsim. The flag actually waves. Bob.

Mr. Zippy, Regarding objects appearing after takeoff. I observed that the first time i loaded the scenery. Subsequent flights and restarting of FSX, I did not notice that situation. That might have been an anomaly with my setup. Perhaps in my advanced age, I neglected to see the vehicles. It seems fine now.

I finally saw one thing berlopez was mentioning. There is a long building on the right side of runway 05 in the stock airport as shown in the ADE screenshot below. The new scenery is supposed to add a hangar at that location with eye candy within it. You can see the doorway to the new hangar in the screenshot below but when you slew inside thru the door you can see the eye candy within. I tried making an exclusion file with ADE but it did not eliminate the generic building. Bob.

I had the same building and used Instant Scenery to exclude the building

Thanks for the info. I'll try it.

When the large building was removed does the open door hangar show with all the eye candy within it as shown in the screenshots jpg? Bob.

Update: The large building is part of the stock airport. I did not think IS would remove stock buildings. Bob.

Some things I have not either like a bridge but it removed that building, set the check box with exclude buildings and auto gen ect. Let me know.
