We have 1,500 gallons of fuel on board for this short 91 mile flight of about forty minutes. The weather is fair with moderate high cloud cover. We will be cruising at an altitude of 8,000 feet. Taxiing out to runway 34 for departure. 4. Holding short while a Cub takes off. 5. Liftoff and wheels coming up as we experience severe turbulence from the Cub’s prop wash. 6. Climbing out over Doha Bay with the Persian Gulf just beyond. 7. Turning on course for Bahrain. We will be over Qatar for much of the flight. 8. Climbing through 3,700 feet. 9. We are at 6,000 feet near the small settlement of Rawdat al `Ajuz, Qatar. 10. Cruising at our assigned altitude of 8,000 feet over the northern desert. 11. Beginning our descent through the clouds. 14. With the coast of Bahrain in sight we continue to descend as we turn toward the airport. 15. We have been assigned runway 30 and begin to line up our approach. 16. About four miles out at 3,000 feet we have flaps 40 and gear down. 17. On short final getting ready to throttle back and level out. 18. Just past the numbers we begin to flare for landing. 19. Touchdown. 20. After the roll out we turn off the runway with a view of the civil side of the airport. 21. Heading to military cargo parking at RAF Muharraq. 22. Parked among the RAF Hawker Hunters the engines have been shut down and the cargo is being unloaded. Thanks for flying British United Airways.
