Ragtopjohnny
Hi all - Relatively simple question here - I haven't done a repaint in a long time for FSX. What format do you save it in? I am doing a Janet Airlines 737-200 from Captain Sim. Will upload to file library when complete if anyone can help me. Thanks! :) http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/ragtopjohnny/NewSig.jpg http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet013.gif Checkout my new Facebook Page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Airplane-Porn/1505438883035386 HP Z820 Workstation Intel Xeon 3.30ghz 8 Core Processor 2TB Hard Drive 16 gig of Ram 1125 Power Supply and 2 Gig Nvidia Geforce GTX 970. f16jockey_2
737-200 from Captain Sim. Relatively simple answer as well. The textures that really matter are cs737_01_T, cs737_07_T, cs737_08_T and cs737_09_T. All DDS DXT1. My Best Wishes for 2015. Wim
StringBean
If it is an FSX native model you would want to use .DDS, what do the original textures use? I would only recommend DXT1 for textures that have no Alpha. If the textures have an Alpha then use either DXT3 or 5. The only difference between DXT3 and DXT5 is the way they handle the Alpha channel. 5 allows for more gradual shading than 3 does. DXT1 w/Alpha reduces your color palette by 25% compared to DXT3 or 5. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. Ragtopjohnny
Thank you so much gentlemen - I will definitely post screen shots when finished. Wim - thanks for letting me know of the ones that matter and count for CS products! :) http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/ragtopjohnny/NewSig.jpg http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet013.gif Checkout my new Facebook Page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Airplane-Porn/1505438883035386 HP Z820 Workstation Intel Xeon 3.30ghz 8 Core Processor 2TB Hard Drive 16 gig of Ram 1125 Power Supply and 2 Gig Nvidia Geforce GTX 970. f16jockey_2
Sorry for my ignorance, but DDS DXT1 is what Captain Sim used for their stock liveries. Wim
StringBean
Nothing to apologize for, Wim. I do not own it so I could not check to see what they use. DXT1 will result in a smaller file size, at the compromise of loss of quality (if they are using an Alpha channel). peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do?
