ColR1948
After a long spell away from FS I have been getting back in to it, in the past I dabbled with ai a lot plus I painted a good few textures, I had FS9 & FSX running on my PC but now I only have a laptop. I'm running FS9 from an external hard drive, it seems OK up to now but saying that I don't have my sliders maxed out. Any way I also linked up another monitor to the lap top, it works great especially when I have other screens on there instead of shrinking them down to the task bar. I recently bought Moving Map and that is something I always wanted, it shows the aircraft as an icon on the World map which is great but I wondered if there was a way to zoom in a bit for more detail or is that the way it is, has anybody else got that could advise please? gdr1944
Well I don't have that app, But I'm almost sure the answer would be in the instructions. Did you try the + or - key. ColR1948
Ha Ha, your reply made me try and the plus key didn't work but then I did a right click and the option to zoom was there, I don't know why I never thought of that at first but thanks for your help. I'm not knocking the moving map but I was hoping by zooming in some place names might be there but I am asking too much.
Brushstrokes
You might want to try PLAN_G, it's an incredible map feature and much more, and it's a free download.

ColR1948
I tried both of the maps from the links above, on Plan G I couldn't get the map to display, I must have or been doing something wrong, I thought I was connected to FS and had it synced to it the message in the map area was it couldn't connect to the server or something and I was connected to the internet. Blue Sky wasn't playing ball either, I was at it for a while but gave up in the end.

drake4896
Have you ever tried FSNavigator? It is a working moving map and you can use in the sim with the F9 key. You will also need the FSUIPC for FS9 installed as well.
ColR1948
I must be doing something wrong, I am running Windows 7 and I read on another thread to run FS9 and this map in compatibility mode with XP, I tried that. I think I'm connected to FS but still no map showing, I get the blue squares with the message "Exception: Unable to connect to the remote server" I am online as well. Also in the squares is the message "We are sorry, but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region" I zoom out and in but still no map. Any help appreciated. Col. ColR1948
Update from above post: I am connected to FS9 via FSUIPC, it shows what I think is my arcraft in yellow on the screen plus other ai traffic in red along with their reg number. But still no map showing just the blue squares as stated in my above post, I have also collected the data from FS but what do I do with that if anything? Col. Brushstrokes
Im not at my flightsim computer right now, but somewhere on PlanG screen is a menu where you select the map service to use.. cant remember where its located. you may want to investigate that. I know when I first loaded PlanG, I had several issues until I finally got it right, and well worth it. Great program.
ColR1948
Hi Thanks, Yes I saw the map services but clicking on any one of them did nothing, I might be wrong but are they subscriber programs, I thought it might displayed the map from FS, even that would be a start but a proper map from a service site would be great? ColR1948
I'm thinking og giving up on this, I got a CTD earlier and just had another, I was connected to FS, I saw my aircraft icon on the blank screen (no map), it took off and started it's journey, as it started to descend all of a sudden CTD! ColR1948
I fathomed a way to get Feelthere moving map to work with Traffic View Board. I was determined after buying it to try, so after a bit of thought, I added the gauges for the map to the gauges in TVB, I got the screen but no flight information was displayed. So I created a flight exactly the same as the AC I wanted to follow keeping TVB as the aircraft, saved it in the usual way then went to the departure airport, selected the ai I wanted to follow in TVB. Then as it took off my map was also updating and showing, it displayed what the ai was doing because I was doing exactly the same due to the follow function. A bit of a long winded way but it did give me the information, something to look at on a long-ish flight, I would really have liked it to just be there without all the faff but that is the way the program works so I'm stuck with it... for now lol. ColR1948
I like to do a bit of ai spotting and following so that is why I like the map, but the post you refer too was not the Feelthere map but one of the others, possibly Plan-G, I tried a few. with reference to the post above I was flying in the UK.
