asos
UKMIL is a paradise for those who love RAF a/c repaints--like me... I have just downloaded 50+ repaints for the IRIS\DSB Tornado. They do excellent work for both anniversary and special on-off schemes and line a/c... for fs9 and fsx. Their work is faithful to the real a/c, down to the smallest details. flyingheavymetal
I totally and utterly agree with you. In fact the work of UKMIL works hand in hand with that of MAIW who produce military sceneries for FS9 / FS2004 to a very accurate extent. If only we still had ACG active though several of their downloads live on thanks to here and Avsim. Only BEEF I have ever had with a UKMIL aircraft was their rendition of the RAF Boeing E-3D Sentry aircraft which is available in three different colour schemes but flies like a chocolate fireguard! Whether or not flying (or rather trying to!) it from BZZ put a gremlin on it I failed to get above 29,000 feet on three separate occasions without either breaking up in mid air or stalling & having to return to FL 250. I know the ceiling height of the actual E-3 Sentry is only FL 300 (30,000 ft) but I thought that this was to do with the radar systems / HAVE QUICK systems on board? Then we get to UKMIL's truthfully excellent rendition of the British variants of the Hawker Siddeley and BAe Systems Harrier. Crack flying this aircraft properly and FS2004 will suddenly enter a new highly addictive dimension! UKMIL cover the GR1 to GR3 plus T4 as well as GR5 to GR9 plus the T10. In an absolute multitude of colours too. SHAR wise they cover the T4 and FRS1 but IIRC have not covered the FA2 yet. Landing on a postage stamp ... Well I am still trying! They also have produced an excellent rendition of the BAC / BAe Nimrod which covers service examples and prototypes which never quite made it such as the AEW1 and Nimrod 2000. But my favourite of all the UKMIL aircraft remains the Blackburn Buccaneer S2B although their package covers South Africa / RN / RAF Buccaneers from throughout the aircraft's service and Gulf War Participation history. flyingheavymetal
Thank you very much for giving a link to MAIW within this thread. They really do produce some excellent stuff as I totally agree. ACG used to be good to the same extent but they shut down two years ago. However some of their sceneries still live on here like RAF Waddington, Coningsby and Bentwaters / Woodbridge.
