Default p51 sputters

Double J

Recommended Posts

I don't usually fly these single prop default planes but I have a lot of time this week so I'm going through my hanger flying everything.

This is the strangest thing I have seen in FSX so far. When in outside view the plane and engine appears to fly just fine but when I switch to the VC the engine starts to sputter and the plane jerks/shakes violently. Pitot is on, speed doesn't matter, clear skies with no turbulence. Watching the fuel consumption and the Gs swings wildly in VC but is steady in outside view.

Sim is running fine 40fps with no stuttering, it's just the inside of this plane no other plane does it.

I have unchecked "engine senses damage" box to see if it makes a diff..it doesn't.

EDIT..it also sucks fuel like there is no tomorrow. Full tank of fuel will last 15 minutes.

Two suggestions:

1) switch to another model.

2) Create a movie of the problem which switches view. Mandatory: Make sure control z display is showing your speed, altitude and winds as well as frame rate. Make sure when switching to an internal view, we can see the primary instruments.

Provide us a link to the movie.

One minor and not very like thing to consider is the processing loads often much different between certain views. Normally an external view load can be pretty intensive largely because there are few restrictions on the how much scenery is displayed and many models have a lot of external detail. In some cases, the load can be enough to keep the plane from reactive to small disruptions. The same thing can happen with an internal view depending on the loads. The flight dynamics can be adversely or positively affected by reduced external detail or the introduction of a huge number of processor-intensive gauges.

If you are using a sound modification program like Accufeel which is misconfigured, this can cause aircraft to behave abnormally.

You aren't the only one having trouble which is why I suggested it as a probability. Since you paid for it, time to get some support from them. I never liked how it messes with the flight model. My guess is the stall speeds might be misconfigured.
