degiorgio
As an old hand on FS (since 1985), I have been flying FSX for a number of years now. I have FSX/SE installed with numerous aircraft and airports. Just recently, I have been experiencing a weird phenomenon. My default start is my Tupolev Tu-154 sitting on runway 5 at Geneva (LSGG) airport. This default flight has worked well for a long time. Today, I loaded FSX using the default flight and it loaded normally. I then decided to change airports to Luqa (Malta, LMML) and was surprised to see that the aircraft was at 1400 feet above the runway threshold. 1400 feet is the altitude of Geneva airport. Any ideas please, as to why FSX did not pick up Malta's runway altitude (300 ft)? Very strange. John
mrzippy
I have always wondered why folks like to start their default flight then switch aircraft/airports. What would happen if you created a new flight plan and chose your aircraft and hit "Fly Now"? My thoughts on always starting the default flight and then making changes could eventually cause what you are seeing now. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! stinger2k2
Perhaps it's just a one off glitch? Or has this happened more than once? I never worry about a problem unless it persists. Odd one though. napamule2
I ALWAYS start with a default airplane so that don't happen. But if it did (because I insist on loading a 3rd party airplane at at addon airport) I would 'PRESS THE 'B' KEY' before I changed airports. Might work. Did you ever in your simming life 'Press The 'B' Key'? Most simmers have not ever done so. No need. They (obviously) LISTEN to REASON. It is a well know hint/tip to load a default airplane to set up FSX for 'other' operations. But who am I to judge. Chuck B Napamule Edit: You were also over at AvSim with this problem. Try SOH yet? il88pp
I should really test this suggestion first, but will leave that to you: Maybe slew mode (y key) was on. To switch that off, y key again. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
