He has: Dell vostro 320 tower win 7 32bit E5800 Pentium dual care 3.2guy 4GB ddr3 ram GeForce gt740 ddr5 4GB All I can get so far is the program crashes at startup. PhantomTweak
Well, I use FSX:SE too, and I've found when it does this, it can be a couple of things. First, going to the FSX.CFG file, and searching for the line SITUATION=FLIGHTS\OTHER\FLTSIM. Delete any and everything after the equals sign, save, close it out, and try again. Alternatively, he can try renaming the FSX.CFG to FSX_OLD.cfg or something like that, and letting the sim rebuild it from scratch. Second, if that doesn't do the trick, try closing the Steam app, re-opening it, and starting FSX from that. Sometimes that works. What we really need to see is the Event viewer report, thus: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a ESPECIALLY this line: Faulting module name: d3dx9_34.dll, version: 9.19.949.46, time stamp: 0x4649415c Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00147211 Faulting process id: 0x4fa4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d2e3576809d775 Faulting application path: I:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\d3dx9_34.dll Report Id: 088064b3-4f4b-11e7-b6f7-4ccc6a90829c Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: That will point us closer to correct solution. Is it corrupt .dll file? Did the FSX.CFG file get something in it it shouldn't? You see what I mean? Good luck, and let us know what happens :D Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! Sgt, USMC, 10 years proud service, Inactive reserve now :D
