liner simpilot
Here is a Air California B-737-200 actual flight departing from SFO-SNA. This must have been this person's first day on the job, as ATC at SFO very confusing at a busy Airport. Kenny
Rupert
Nice looking plane Kenny. Ugly looking backup for take-off!!:mad: At KSDF right after the Kentucky Derby you can always tell who has the most status. It's not the guy with a 727 or Citation for his personal aircraft. It's the guy that gets the earliest GA IFR departure slot after Derby, regardless of what he's flying in!! ;) Michael Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. liner simpilot
Thanks Jan for complimenting this old bird. & Michael, you two speak from the heart. Thank goodness this doesn't happen often. ATC must have confused that day. Kenny
annber
Nice bird Kenny. I once sat on the tarmac (not literally) for over one hour waiting for takeoff at SFO. Next time do what Jan does, skip the line and take off from the taxiway.:) ANNBER https://www.facebook.com/Photosim-Labs-133663917277630/
liner simpilot
Thanks Annber for your response, just might have too try the taxi/runway for take off and avoid the incidences in my case. I will have to take the bark from ATC, "I am not allowed to take off". Thank God this doesn't happen in real life. Kenny

Rupert
Thank God this doesn't happen in real life. Kenny It doesn't? I remember one Friday night being booked on a flight from KDTW to KSDF that scheduled to depart Detroit at 16:45. Of course, this being Detroit in winter there was lake affect snow!! Which often leads to a trip to the de-ice area! So we went to the de-ice area three (3) times without taking off. Finally at about 20:30 the flight was cancelled because KSDF was shutting down their passenger service for the night at 22:00 and they were pretty sure that after the 4th de-ice we wouldn't take-off soon enough to make it there before the terminal closed.:mad: Of course UPS flies multiple flights in and out of KSDF all hours of the day and night. So people living near the airport still have to put up with all the noise. There was just no passenger service till about 05:45 or so the next day. American B777-223ER
Very interesting Kenny, Air California was so long ago! Remember my brother making his first flight on their Lockheed Electra during a early 1970's high-school field trip to Fort Ord (he was the school photographer).
