lister1
Hey everyone, Just wondering if there's any handy tips to improve my performance with the PMDG777, I sit at 32 FPS in cold and dark but when everything is set up I'm lagging and stuttering. Not long bought Dubai rebooted and I'm scared to fly there because of the FPS. My specs are as follows; Intel i5-6500 8GB RAM Nvidia GeForce 1060 6GB Just an additional note I am in FSX SE due to the numerous coding fixes Dovetail done, the game is entirely default apart from the 777, Airbus X and the Dubai scenery. All suggestions are welcome, Thanks in advance Sean :D
mejjo1989
You could always try turning off First Officer displays and limited the frames on the displays too. This seems to of helped a little with performance for some.
W2DR
Welcome to the forum(s). If you're using the PMDG 777 it's going to be a challenge to get smooth performance with the 6500 (it's a bit slow for complex add-ons). All I can recommend is keep the scenery sliders as far to the left as you can stand them to be. The less the CPU has to do drawing scenery details the smoother the ride will be. It's going to be a special challenge with detailed airport scenery. Turn off the AI traffic completely and set the weather to clear. That should help some and give you a starting point to finding a combination that will work for you.....Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.0 Ghz, Asus Maxumus XII Hero MB, Noctua NH-U12A Cooler, Corsair Vengence Pro 32GB 3200Mhz, Geforce RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, and other good stuff. CRJ_simpilot
Why does everyone fly to Dubai?! OOM errors? Read this. What the squawk? An awesome weather website with oodles of Info. and options. Wile E. Coyote would be impressed.
jorgen.s.andersen
Beats me why people fly there. Enormous big airport, far too big for my taste - I've spent more taxiing there than at any other airport. EDDH, EHAM or EKCH are so much nicer. But seriously, for improved performance, not only with this aircraft and Dubai scenery, try Kosta's tweaking guide, located as a sticky at the top of this forum. lister1
Thank you for the aid guys, saving up for a i7 now. Yeah the 6500 is a big improvement over my old A8 but it just isn't cut out for flight sim. Just another quick question do any of you use GSX? If you do can you please explain what the different parking systems do in the settings, I've tried changing it and I see no note able difference. CRJ_simpilot
Beats me why people fly there. Enormous big airport, I thought taxing around KDEN was a PITA. Edit- Looking at the airport from Sat imagery it's nothing. KDEN is bigger and so is Atlanta. OOM errors? Read this. What the squawk? An awesome weather website with oodles of Info. and options. jorgen.s.andersen
I haven't been to Atlanta, but to KDEN several times, as I lived in CO for some years. But it never seemed to me that we taxied for as long there as we did in Dubai. Jorgen
CRJ_simpilot
Flew in and out of DIA many, many times and taxiing took a while as well as vacating the very long runway. They have to be long for high density altitude in the summer. One runway, I think it's 35L is as long as the Rookies are as high. That applies to the taxiways. OOM errors? Read this. What the squawk?
