Low fps on high end PC

Hello! I've recently built a new computer and installed FSX to it but my fps is very low (around 20fps). I'll put specs and the tweaked .cfg below. Please help me and if something is unclear ask me.

CPU speed 3.4GHZ (3.8GHZ TURBO) decent, but not fantastic. I was curious about a couple of your .cfg entries.

 

1. AffinityMask=65535 How did you arrive at this number?

Mode=1360x768x16 Shouldn't the last number be 32 instead of 16?

 

3. TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 OK, if you are displaying very graphical aircraft textures. 2048 or even default 1024 may be OK also!

 

4. LOD_RADIUS=6.500000 You may be pushing it! Try 4.500000 (default)

As Mr. Zippy says, how (in the world) did you arrive at all those figures?

 

My advice here, for what it's worth: delete the FSX.cfg file. Start FSX, go to the configuration screen with all the sliders and set the sliders as you like it. After this close FSX and in the future, do not touch the sliders again. Then find Kosta's Tweaking guide, located as a sticky in this forum, and follow the advice given there.

OK, actually after writing this post I did delete the .cfg and started over and used the Kostas tweak guide and it's already better but here are the answers for the questions:

 

1. The CPU has 8 cores with SMT (it's like multithreading on AMD if I've understood correctly) on

2.That's now fixed because I deleted the .cfg

3.No need for answer

4.I actually have it now on 5.500000

The LOD_RADIUS=5.500000 should be OK. My own is at 6.500000.

 

I am not sure what the AffinityMask should be set to on your AMD CPU. I have an Intel 4-core with HT on, so mine is set to 84.

Well I got it! I just found a good balance between the sliders and even I did put some sliders down scenery still looks better than in the settings I had before (before all sliders max). That's actually quite funny. Some examples in the PMDG 737 NGX in LAX (default scenery with better sky and ground textures) is around 30 fps even in VC. That's good for now but because I'm not a big fan of those payware sceneries I think that'll be fine what I now have. But bbrz asked about the .cfg, yes it was clean. I first deleted the one above and started all over with the Kostas guide. And jorgen.s.andersen, I looked up a page that tells you what you should put to the affinitymask.
