Sudden FPS drop in FSX that cannot be fixed; unique to aircraft

Hi!

I've been flying the SGA MD80 for a while and experienced very good fps for months. Today, suddenly while in-flight the computer froze for like a second and recovered with the FPS extremely limited, to like 5 or 6. I thought maybe the computer was getting hot or something so I shut down and restarted; loaded the SGA MD80 again and no improvement, still 5-6fps. I then noticed it was only affecting the SGA MD80 since other aircraft still experience very good fps.

This is very bizzare since I've been having good fps for months with the SGA MD80 (it's actually one of the best airliners in frame rates), and today it seems like something happened with the computer that somehow broke a "barrier" and as of right now, the plane would still load up at 5-6fps while other aircraft (even the much more complex payware addons) experience no change in fps.

What would cause this weird change unique to the specific plane?

Probably background processes. Usually 'Automatic Updates' kicking in (it don't respect anything - it's selfish - takes over - won't quit until it feels like it). OR that aircraft is 'calling home' (it's a possibility but might not be the case).

Alternatively, you could be close to, or closing in on, a very complex scenery area. Have you added a new scenery lately? Does it only happen in one place and not elsewhere in the world?

Might be something to consider...

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!
