My FS9 is up and running on new win 7 Pro 64 machine. None of my add ons or scenery are as yet included, will add them one at a time to try to reduce problems to a minimum.

One question... can someone tell me how to assign the Saitek throttle controls to the system? What I'm remembering and what I see do not add up, and I could use some assistance.

Thanks...

Glad to hear that things are coming along. Maybe slowly, but still moving in the right direction.

Ha Ha, good to hear, funny because I'm moving the other way.

My Grandson has just made me a new PC and I'm going to use it mainly for FSX and maybe, not decided yet X-plane 11.

My old PC I have my FS9 on and lots of scenery and addons and I don't fancy moving it all over, at least not just yet anyway.

Be aware that some FS9 scenery may not run correctly in FSX. Their locations might also be mapped differently to some degree.

I've not seen any drivers for Saitek, FS9, and Win7. I simply plug my X52 PRO into a USB port and use the drivers provided by Win7.

Hope that helps!

Go here:

http://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php

You can get drivers and software as far back as Win XP and even 2000! The Saitek software is great for FS9.

I've tried those drivers and they didn't work properly. But my controllers are pretty old and I believe that the MFD in the X52-Pro has been updated.

You kow, it's funny, when the X52 Pro came out it didn't have any profiles for FS9 specifically. But it did come with profiles specifically for X. The FS9 profiles were missing from the CDRom.

Still have the CDRom and almost drove down to Torrence (back then) to ask Saitek where the FS9 profiles were. I think that was in 2006?

Drivers and the software are for the X-52 Pro joystick itself. Drivers and software are NOT for any FS version. It's "profiles" that are available for independent games. You can make your own profiles for FS9 once you have the software installed.

Everything should work perfectly fine. I have the X52 (non pro) from 2004 and the latest software and drivers work with it and will also work with your X52 Pro.

Price of tea in China. The 7.0.47.1 drivers for the X-52 Pro did not work with my Saitek X52 Pro controllers. I suspect that it's because they are older controllers. The profies for FS9 were not included with the Saitek X52 Pro CDRom that was distributed with the hardware.

Now I haven't tried the 7.0.53.6 drives but I don't really need to. The main point being is that Win7 has default drivers which work just fine. You can simply plug into a USB port and begin flying. I think that's the point here.

Hey, have you seen an X52 Pro profile for FS9 on Saitek's web anywhere? Love to find one if one exists!

Best Regards

Haven't looked, I create my own. You'll need to install their software if a profile exists to use it. The software will work with your stick, mine is the oldest of all X52 hardware.

Thanks, guys, FS9 up and running, controller functioning (all buttons and axis's) several add on planes added and working. So far the only issue is some gauges are nit coming up. That's probably because most of my panels are home built and I have not yet dded my gauge file. I'll try that next, but so far, so good!

Well, why not take a look and report back. Tell the group if you can actually find an FS9 profile, created by Saitek, and for the X52 Pro. I don't think I've ever seen one that worked.

If the group wants a profile the group can go look! lol

As I said, I create my own profiles, no need to download one. Why not create your own and use commands as you want them to be not as somebody else wanted them to be?

Edit: Went and looked out of curiosity and doesn't appear to be one. As I said, to get the profile to work you will have to install the software. If you can't install the software, the profile is of no use. If you can install the software, then you might as well create your own.

Further Edit: I see you have brought your issue up in the past. Again, the software and drivers do work with your X52 Pro. If they are not working for you it will be down to the specifics of your system. I would suggest you open a thread in an appropriate area to seek help. I don't wish to drag this thread away from the topic so KCD can receive any help he requires.

Bull...You've been dragging this thread away from KCD the second you posted garbage.

But on a more positive note, the idea that Saitek produced that great hardware was cool. The trouble was that they never did provide a working profile for FS9 anywhere and the controllers cost $200.00.

How that little oversite happened, I have no idea...

Go back and read what I posted when I came into this thread.

1. You couldn't find drivers, I "helped" you and gave you a link.

2. I then "helped" you because you were clearly not understanding your X52 is supported by the drivers and software.

3. Then I "helped" you to understand there is nothing you can do with the profile if you are not using the software.

4. Then you tell me to go look for files I do not need that you can go do yourself or any other person who wants it can do it themselves. Next time I want a plane should I tell you to go find it for me??? lol

I've been posting garbage and dragging this thread away by answering every query you had in order to help you? I'm also a hacker??? Holly F*ck! lol

You were going on post after post about your X52, looking for a profile and hoping to get it in KCD's thread. Helped you as long as possible but it looked like you weren't going to drop it anytime soon. This isn't the first time you have been here about the same thing.

It's simple, start your own thread, grow up and post like a normal person. lol

Look, this is easy. I don't believe a word you say and clearly you've got it in for me. So detant. If you post to a thread that I've written, it could prove to be a waste of everyone's time. So just refrain and everything will be cool, at least with me!

First, let's look at the list of detected devices. Go to Control Panel Home, Click on Device Manager. See if you get any of the HID Game Controllers:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqlryb37ylis3qt/device%20manager%20HID%20devices.jpg?dl=0

If you have drivers, they should have been requested, else choose to find them from Windows Internet. Once installed open Devices and Printers from Control Panel:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ohkrajuy6etzieg/FS%20controller%20settings.jpg?dl=0

You'll see the game controllers. Right Click on one and choose game controller settings. Highlight one and click properties. Click Test. You are now set to calibrate these. The number of axis and buttons will be determined by the device.

Once calibration is done you can open FS. Go to Settings - Controls/Assignments. In my example in the calibration test it showed an X, Y, and Z axis (you move them around when calibrating so you know what specific movement shows what axis moves). In the FS setting choose the joystick name.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb738itxm93ljb6/controls%20and%20assignments.jpg?dl=0

Choose the Normal Flight Tab, then repeat later for slew mode.

As an example, double click on Aileron, the first in the list. A dialog open instructing you to move the control (in this case horizontally for X axis) and the after X-Axis appears OK the assignment. Same for Y (elevator). Assign any other you will use. You can also assign buttons on the controller to functions of the button tab in a similar manor.

Now go back to the main settings dialog and choose sensitivities. You have calibrated the stick first, right? Put a little bit of null in to get rid of electrical noise and then set the range for the sensitivity you want, both with the sliders by dragging each end.

If you have pedals, use reverse for the braking axis on each one. If you don't, having the pedals with no pressure on them would be full braking and pushing them down would release the brake pressure. No reverse on the Z-Axis used for rudder control.

During installation when asked about drivers, let windows choose to get the generic ones. The reason your CD may not load them is that in Win 7 it wants to see a vendor certificate which may not be on it.

Hope this helps.
