FSX Flight Planner and Wind Vector

I noticed that the FSX Flight Planner does not add the wind correction vector to the Magnetic Heading. I add the wind information ie. 315 degrees @ 40knots and the planner only adds the magnetic variation to the true course and not the wind correction. I'm sure I must be doing something wrong. Any advice?

This might help. Reported winds at airports are reported as Magnetic direction to correspond to runway heading which are also Magnetic. Variation does not enter into the equation.

However, I'm a little confused with your question. Are you planning a flight with FSX flight Planner, or are you in flight using TRK and CTS differences during the flight? If you are planning a flight using FSX flight Planner, it only provides you with Magnetic Course information. As pilot, you have to apply variation, compass deviation, altitude, temperature, and wind correction to obtain either a Magnetic or a True Heading. Happy flying. Gipper

Thanks, Gipper. That explains everything. I'm actually using the wind triangle for the wind. Very simple, very cool.
