Experiencing Severe Memory Leak in P3D Version 3.4.22.19868

I need help regarding a Memory Leak in P3D Version 3.4.22.19868

After the initial install in October 2016 P3D has worked perfectly the sim accepted incremental updates and additions without any memory issues.

I fly A2A C182, RealAir Turbo Duke2 and Carenado CJ2 with GTN mod, typically the initial VAS usage would be 2.3

Until just a few days ago when VAS usage started acting strangely, I can sit stationary at an airport (UK2000 Birmingham) any airport , and watch the VAS steadily increase from the initial 2.3 to OOM within 20mins.

Suggestions have included reverting to an earlier Nvidia driver (376.33) which I have done to no effect.

There were two updates just prior to the memory leak manifesting, Orbx Vector and Chase Plane. I deactivated both, the leak continued.

My system specs are:

Intel i7 4.0 GHZ OC:4.5GHZ

msi Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon

16 GB DDR-4-3000 RAM

Samsung 850EVO 1TB SSD

Corsair Hydo GTX cooling

Windows 10

HT-ON / IM-None

This is a desperate call for advice from seasoned simmers before I delete everything and start re-installation, which as you know takes a lot of time to get everything back to where you had it and more importantly the problem may persist because the cause may lay elsewhere outside the sim.

All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Mick Partlett

There have been several reports of similar things Mick. Several have reported that is started with W10 doing an auto update of the NV driver. Even restoring back didn't solve the issue.

Have you checked to be sure that W10 didn't replace your driver again?

Hello Vic

I appear to have two Nvidia Drivers 1.GTX1080-21.21.13.7653 2.Nvidia Display Driver- 376.33 I understand the Display Driver for the GPU (GTX1080) but what function does the second driver serve?

It's this second driver I was advised to change to this version.

Only the GTX1080 driver appears in device manager I cannot see the second driver anywhere.

Can you enlighten?

Thanks

It's not possible to `deactivate` Vector. Elements remain active and in memory even when all the options are switched off.

Uninstalling is the only proven way to stop Vector influencing VAS.

I don't know abut Chase Plane, but I'd be very surprised if that code was any different.

And if you're doing that and they're the only addons installed, then you may as well do a full uninstall/reinstall of P3D. It only takes about 20 minutes for the default program if you follow the guide

You may have several on your system but only ONE is/can be active. Changing the INACTIVE one does nothing. Look at the adapter properties for the video card and you'll see which is being used.

376.33 is being used by many with no issues.

Hey guys,

I'm glad I found this because I'm experiencing the same. Brand new pc only used for P3D. All paid add-ons. Win10Pro, i5-7600K@5GHz, GTX1060, 16GB GSkill with 500GB M2 SSD.

Every ones in a while I get this:

Is there a solution? I've been updating my NVidia driver all the time. Should I go back to a previous built?

I did more flying and got it again.

A ding started and one ding every 10 seconds or so but I did not find any error messages. Then about 5 minutes later, I got the error message again and as soon as I hit the OK the whole sim quit.

The weird thing is that I didn't even reach 6GB of used memory out of the total og 16GB.

Any suggestion?

go back to a much earlier nvidia driver(376.33 is good) and reduce your settings.

The arror message and the Grpah you're using are entirely unrelated. Probably best to look up `Virtual Address Space` to avoid confusing your RAM, with VAS. Heck, they're even spelled differently...

I have seen this happen when you start about flight or change scenery settings. When a new object is created it needs to be disposed when done using it. This is what causes memory leaks. I suspect it is in the P3D app, but not sure. To avoid it before taking a flight restart P3D. I see this more when I change things in the scenery library.
