Megascenery USA 2004 & FS9

I recently acquired a new computer running Windows 7 (64bit). After installing Flight Sim 2004 I attempted to add Megascenery USA 2004. Flight Sim 2004 would not recognize it. I’m not a particularly knowledgeable computer type and after trying a couple things I manage to muck up the installation a bit. When I now start Flight Sim 2004 I now get the following “SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid Remote scenery path in scenery Area.038. Click OK to continue”.

So I have two requests. Any suggestions on how to fix the SCENERY.CFG file error and how to add Megascenery USA 2004?

Thanks for help

Can you please post the scenery config entries for areas 36 to 38? It should look like this:

[Area.079]

Title=9Dragons V2

Local=Addon Scenery\9Dragons V2

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

Layer=72

Remote=

The line for local should point to the folder where the scenery is installed - the directory containing the folders scenery and textures.

Sascha66. Thanks for the recommendation. Between yourself and a Tech I was able to find and read the config files. I’ve listed them as you requested and I believe Addon Scenery should be added to the Local= line in Area.038. However, when I tried that the system wouldn’t allow me to. I assume the file is protected and I haven’t figured out how to get past that yet.

On a separate note, Megascenery USA 2004 is now working with fs9 but I have no clue why but decided not to temp fate and mess around with it. Just be happy that it works.

[Area.036]

Title=Vehicle Libraries

Local=Scenery\Vehicles

Layer=36

Active=TRUE

Required=TRUE

Remote=

[Area.037]

Title=Propeller Objects

Local=Scenery\props

Layer=37

Active=TRUE

Required=TRUE

Remote=

[Area.038]

Title=Addon Scenery

Local=

Layer=38

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

Remote=
